Frequently asked questions
Who is this retreat for?
Awaken is open to individuals and couples of all genders. An intake call is required for everyone, especially if we haven’t worked with you before.
Why is this retreat three days?
Three days is our signature experience. We’ve found the ideal amount of time ceremony and connection, allowing time to decompress, benefit from multiple ceremonies, and have space to begin integration.
Why is the retreat called Awaken?
It’s the start of a new year! The perfect time to wake up to yourself, to your path, and to set your path for the year ahead.
What medicines are you working with?
Up to three pre-selected medicines, depending on your goals and experience. First-time journeyers will work with one medicine.
I have never experienced an expanded state. Is this retreat for me?
Maybe. We’ll conduct a comprehensive intake call to ensure it’s the right fit.
I have a lot of experience with expanded states. Is this retreat for me?
Yes. Most of our voyagers are returning guests. The journey can be tailored to your comfort level and experience.
I’m taking prescription meds. Can I attend the retreat?
It depends on what you’re taking and which medicine you’d like to work with. Please talk to us before you book so we can check for interactions and make a safe recommendation.
What do you go over in an intake call?
We’ll review your health history and current medications, talk about your goals, and make sure this retreat is a safe and supportive fit. All information you share is confidential and used only to support harm reduction and well-being.
What does a typical schedule look like?
You’ll arrive in the evening orientation and settling in. We’ll enjoy a short ceremony night one, but our big experience will be held on the second day. One third day, a lighter journey helps you go a little deeper and begin integration.
What should I bring?
Comfortable clothes, a water bottle, and a journal. You may also want to bring a personal item that grounds or comforts you — such as a stone, photo, or small token to place on the altar.
Do I need to bring food?
We provide nourishing snacks and a shared breakfast, and can accommodate dietary needs. You’re welcome to bring extra snacks if you like.
Is transportation included?
Participants arrange their own transportation to the retreat space, but we can help coordinate carpools once the group is confirmed.
Where is the retreat located?
At a private retreat space about an hour’s drive from Seattle.
How many facilitators will be present?
This retreat is guided by Kate and Mike, who will be with you throughout the entire journey, offering steady support and guidance.
Will there be time for rest and solo reflection?
Yes. While ceremony is a shared experience, we also create intentional space for quiet reflection and personal time.
What kind of integration support do you provide?
We gather for a group integration on the third day, and you’ll stay connected with your retreat community in a private Signal group. We’re also available for individual integration support if you’d like additional follow-up.
What happens if I feel overwhelmed during ceremony?
That’s normal — and you won’t be alone. We’ll be right there to help you ground, breathe, and navigate whatever arises. Our role is to ensure safety and support throughout the process.
Is this retreat safe?
Your safety and well-being are our top priorities. We work with small groups, carefully screen all participants through intake calls, and bring years of facilitation experience to create a supportive and grounded environment.
What if I need additional support after the retreat?
We are here for you. If needed, we can connect you with resources to help you integrate and navigate whatever arises. For your well-being, we ask that most journeyers are actively working with a therapist or have another strong support network in place.
Why is my payment non-refundable?
Because this is an intimate retreat with limited spaces, we run tight margins to keep the retreat as affordable as possible. If you are unable to attend, you can apply your credit toward future retreats or other Lucid Moon services.
Do I need to sign a disclaimer?
Yes. You’ll be asked to sign a medical and legal disclaimer before participating. This helps ensure clarity and safety for everyone.
I can’t make this retreat. Do you have more planned?
Not currently, but we usually offer around 3 retreats a year. Please join our newsletter to be the first to know about new offerings.
Will you ever another one-day retreat?
Not right now, but we hope to in 2026.
I’m interested in a solo journey. Is that something you offer?
Absolutely. We facilitate individual experiences several times each month. Please contact us to learn more.
